Swimming In An Island Paradise

One of my favourite things about North Stradbroke Island was being able to walk up high on the cliff faces looking down on the magnificent beaches and clear blue/green water below. Couldn’t believe my luck when I reached this particular hill top and saw masses of swimmers and young surfers playing in the waves. It […]

Wallaby On South Stradbroke

The great picture of a native Australian wallaby on South Stradbroke Island was taken during a sailing cruise, as the island is only accessible by boat … or canoe, or perhaps even a strong swimmer could take on the current across the Broadwater on the Gold Coast. The animals here have been fed by the […]

The Big Red Hen

Many people seem to have pets on The Gold Coast and as I was raised on a poultry farm, this closeup photo of a large chook (as we call them in the country) just has to be included here. Enjoy looking into her eye and catching a glimpse of the reflection!

People At The Lookout

Some tourists stand chatting in the misty rain near the incredibly scenic Canyon Lookout at Springbrook National Park. Absolutely rain nor hail could stop us from venturing into this amazing heritage listed area in the Gold Coast Hinterland and capturing some magnificent images. I intend to go back again really soon. It’s a must-see area.

Giant Antarctic Beech Tree

This enormous Beech tree was photographed in the world-heritage listed National Park at Springbrook. These incredibly characteristic gnarled trees looks like something that belongs in a fairy tale and the image itself has been generated from 4 super high quality full framed images stitched together that in full resolution, could be blown up tall enough […]

Horse In A Paddock

It seems as if most people have a pet of some sort on The Gold Coast. Many newer apartment buildings now allow a small animal under 10 kgs with the consent of body corporate and we often see local people walking their dogs on the beautiful tracks, boardwalks and beaches here. Horses are plentiful in […]

Coming Down The Water Slide

There’s nothing much more family friendly on a hot summers day than taking the kids to one of the Gold Coasts Theme Parks like Wet ‘N Wild. Great to go for movie nights as well and relax on the lounges or loll around on a floatie in the pool. Not only is it good exercise […]

Pets Allowed In Apartments

When I moved to The Gold Coast in 2010, I wanted to find an apartment that allowed pets, not only did we have a small dog with us but I also thought it was wise to purchase in a pet approved building to make re-sale more desirable. There are a few pet friendly apartment blocks […]

Feeding The Pelicans

The large billed billed pelicans are plentiful on the coastal regions of Queensland and the local fish shop staff at Charis Seafood in Labrador feed them daily around lunch time, to thrill the tourists.

Gold Coast Relaxed Lifestyle

How much better can life really be? On the Gold Coast people tend to have a more relaxed and healthy lifestlye … they go for morning and evening walks, play on the beach with their dogs and kids and take time to sit by the pool. This picture is of me, chilling out before taking […]

Going On A Snorkelling Adventure

One of the most enjoyable adventures I’ve had on The Gold Coast, is snorkeling at Wavebreak Island with the abundance of coloured fish really close to the shoreline. It felt as if I could just reach out my hand and touch them. But this picture is of a man with flippers, snorkeling just off North […]
