Isn’t the Gold Coast magnificent at this time of year!
We’ve had some warm weather, lots of rain and now a welcome cool change. It doesn’t stop people getting out and about though. From my balcony I can always see people running, walking their dogs, riding bikes or taking their children for a stroll, even in the wettest or warmest weather.
But for me, I’ve taken the opportunity to get in some extra trips to Lamington National Park, Springbrook National Park, Mount Tambourine, The Hinze Dam (great cafe there by the way) and Coombahbah Lakelands as well as the regular pictures I take on The Broadwater.
We’ve added so many new photo albums to the Gold Coast Australia Gallery. Here’s just a small sample …
OFF FOR ANOTHER ADVENTURE … One day, I decided to drive somewhere I’d never been before, put on some walking shoes and headed off with no particular destination in mind, but to let the camera show me its magic.
What a treat to find a conservation and nature reserve only a few minutes drive away from home with the most prolific wildlife, bird-life and well kept gravel walking tracks, bush tracks and boardwalks.
The birds here took a liking to my car with the top down, the wagtails seemed to follow me along the timber fenceline, the bush turkeys were a little elusive, but a magpie was really friendly. Lucky I had my long Canon 100 – 400m lens with me.
We’re incredibly blessed in Australia, with councils, government bodies and local environmental agencies that really care about saving these glorious lake-lands and nature reserves for us to enjoy together.
The sunrise this morning inspired me.
It was a striking red and gold colour … people all over the place stopped and stared in awe at its beauty. I praised the magnificence of nature. What a fabulous way to start another new day.
It made me think about the big changes I’m making in my life. Not by concentrating on the big stuff and working hard at it, but by noticing the simple things and playing lightly with them.
The variety of colours in these pictures are simply stunning. That’s nature, that’s life, that’s ease, that’s variety, that’s beauty, that’s a blessing, that’s true abundance. ~ Elizabeth Richardson
